WHO WE ARE

The Grupo ARCO has two permanent scientists although it has links with different experts in various parts of the world:

Martha Fandiņo-Lozano has a Ph.D from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In her doctoral thesis she proposed new methods to select and manage conservation areas. She is a biologist of the Los Andes University, Colombia and has a M.Sc. in development planning from the same university. She was director of the Division of Natural Resources at the National Planning Department, from which position she proposed the creation of the Ministry of Environment and the National Parks Unit. For many years she taught at the Andes and Javeriana University.  (ver CV Martha Fandiņo-Lozano).

Willem van Wyngaarden has a Ph.D in ecology from the Wageningen University, the Netherlands. In his doctoral thesis he describes the functioning of east-African savannas. After many years of experience in natural resource management and biological conservation in different continents, he is based now in Colombia. (ver CV Willem van Wyngaarden).
