The Grupo ARCO is financed by the services it provides and the help of governmental institutions, donor countries, companies or private persons.

In Colombia there are incentives to reduce the tax base for companies by means of donations. Because the Grupo ARCO is a non-profit research organization, it can issue a certificate of donation directed at the National Tax Administration, and with that the organizations that pay tax over profits and that invest or donate funds for research projects, have the right to reduce their profit with 125% of the value of the invested or donated amount in the fiscal year that the investment or donation was made (Article No. 126-3, Estatuto Tributario).

The Grupo ARCO does not maintain any bureaucracy. The resources that it receives are all used for projects that are useful for the society. Some activities, such as the development of software, only generate results once they are executed.
